PLE's Healthy School Team will be hosting a Kids Heart Challenge in February! This program is a great opportunity for your students to learn, serve and make a difference in fighting our nation’s #1 health crisis – heart disease and stroke.

  • When and Where: 2/4 and 2/18 - Before school on February 4th an American Heart Association representative will be coming to pump up students and introduce the Kids Heart Challenge. On February 18th, the AHA will be back to hold a before school Heart Healthy Jump Rope Celebration! This will be a morning full of games, music, and movement! 8:10 am - 8:50 am
  • Your kids will learn from 6 Heart Heroes: the importance of moving more, adding color to their plates, staying away from tobacco – and new this year – how to be ready, be kind and help others.
  • Your kids will get to raise awareness and funds (optional) for the American Heart Association.  How? By sharing what they are learning with the people who support them the most – either face-to-face or using technology tools like emails and social media.
  • Your kids will earn rewards by raising awareness, completing online challenges, and/or raising money (optional) for the AHA.
